Frequently asked questions

Why are some or all of my routes missing?

Passim needs permission to read Workouts and Workout Routes. Heart Rate is used for route coloring and is optional for displaying routes. Indoor workouts, workouts recorded without GPS, and workouts from other apps that did not save a GPS route to Apple Health have no route to display.

In Apple Health, open your profile → Apps under Privacy → Passim and review access. Then open Passim → Settings → Connect Apple Health or Refresh Health Data.

Why does the first load take a while?

After you connect Apple Health, Passim reads all available workout history. The first read can take time if you have many workouts or long routes. On later launches, it shows the local cache first, then checks for changes.

Why is a place wrong or a city stamp missing?

The passport compares sampled route points against offline boundaries and a GeoNames dataset of over 160,000 places worldwide. Coverage and boundaries are approximate. Small towns, brief visits, and routes near borders or between nearby cities can be missed or assigned to a nearby place. A place needs at least two matching route samples to count.

How do I correct a route that’s offset in mainland China?

In Passim, go to Settings → China Basemap Coordinate Correction. Try turning it on if a route is offset in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao. Turn it off when the basemap already aligns. This changes the display only and preserves the stored GPS coordinates.

How do I view my routes on Mac?

On your iPhone, open Passim → Settings → Data & Privacy → Send to Mac (AirDrop). On the Mac, open the received .fitnessroutes file in Passim or choose File → Import Route File…. Each full snapshot replaces the previous snapshot. Separately imported GPX workouts remain in your library.

Which GPX files can I import?

On iPhone or iPad, use Passim → Settings → Import GPX Files. On Mac, use File → Import Route File…. Passim reads GPX tracks with at least two valid, timestamped GPS points in a segment. It also reads elevation and supported heart rate extensions when present.

Passim recognizes running, cycling, walking and hiking from supported numeric activity codes or keywords in the track type and name. If it can’t identify the activity, it treats it as running.

What does Passim Pro include, and how do purchases work?

The workout map, passport, visas and entry stamps are free. Pro adds the full footprint map, your home location and annual reports, the heatmap, heart rate route coloring, the living cover, UV details and commemorative stamps, and watermark-free poster export.

Choose a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. The annual plan offers a free trial to eligible Apple Accounts when available. The lifetime purchase can be shared with Family Sharing where the App Store offers it. See the App Store for prices and trial terms.

To restore access, use Restore Purchases on the Pro screen. To cancel an auto-renewing subscription, go to Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Request refunds through Apple’s Report a Problem page. The developer cannot issue refunds directly.

What comes back after reinstalling or changing devices?

If your workouts are available in Apple Health, reconnect to read them again. Passim has no iCloud sync. Passport holder details may come back from a system backup. Route databases are marked for exclusion from backups, so don’t count on restoring them. Keep any GPX files you want to import again.

How do I delete all my Passim data?

Follow the deletion and permissions instructions in the Privacy Policy.
